Fat Loss Mindset — Is IT In YOU?

Do you have the right mindset for change?

Here is a great story.

A man named Roger Banister is the first runner to reach a landmark that no one else had reached up until that point.

Many runners had gotten close.

But no one was able to reach it.  What is “it?”

“It” is the 4 minute mile.

Roger Banister is the first man to break the 4 minute mile.  But when he first brought up the idea of doing so, everyone scoffed at him.  “That’s impossible no one can break that record” and “It has never been done before; there is no way you could run that fast.”

But Mr. Banister didn’t give up his dream — his dream to break this seemingly “impossible” goal.  He was determined.

And with this determination and his training, he did what no one else had done up until that point.

He broke through that barrier.

But while that is very impressive and surely inspirational, breaking that 4 minute mark isn’t the end of the story.

Just over 1 month later, the 4 minute mile was again broken… by another man.

The question now becomes – did that other athlete suddenly start training differently?  Eating differently?  Get a better coach, shoes, etc?

And the answer?

None of those.  He simply had a mindset shift.  He realized that after the 4 minute mile was already broken by another man, it was possible.  Until then, it seemed impossible.

How does this apply to losing weight?

A similar mindset shift has to take place for you to be permanently successful.  At any given time over 80% of men and women are “on a diet.”

Yet nearly 70% of the population is overweight or obese.  Like breaking the 4 minute mile, losing weight and maintaining that loss is seemingly impossible.

But like Roger Bannister, you must break free of that mindset that continues to hold you back from achieving what you’re trying to achieve.

So What Do You Do Next?

You know Big Mac’s, ice cream, pie, soda, etc are not the solution to get results.  And eating these foods regularly won’t allow you to reach your fat loss goals.

It’s the daily behaviors and mindset that “make us” continue to turn back to these foods, though.

Do YOU have what it takes to achieve your fat loss goals?
