Biggest Diet Sabotage

We’re at the pool the other day — Ella’s first adventure into what must have seemed like the world’s largest bathtub to her.

diet sabotageIt was such a blast watching her face as she slashed around, tried to put her face in the water, and so on.

But one thing that also stood out to me was what they offered at the "concession stand."  And it reminded me as to just how challenging it can be to eat clean.

Planning is a must.  We’ve talked about that.

But eating clean 90% of the time, as we suggest, and sticking to a plan can be a challenge.

In addition to planning ahead, it requires a bit of "know how" in the kitchen.  A basic sense of cooking skills, following a recipe or two, knowing how foods and ingredients work together.

You surely don’t have to be a gourmet Chef, but basic skills are helpful, to say the least.

But there are so many other factors that play a role in eating clean on a daily basis.

So our question to you today is — what is YOUR biggest diet sabotage?

What do you struggle with the most on a daily basis in terms of

eating clean and sticking to a plan?

My biggest sabotage….. my past life and its cravings.
I struggle with what I used to do & eat…. used to enjoy & eat …. used to love to eat …. continually.

Too much of a “good thing”. I’ve found that natural and organic foods taste so good, that I sometimes eat more than one serving. Since these foods are typically NOT low calorie, that hurts me on the scale.

My two biggest diet sabotages are emotional eating and overeating during the late afternoon hours, prior to dinner. Thanks for any feeback and suggestions that you can offer regarding these two issues!

Salty chips/crackers late afternoon—I eat them w/hummus (or beer cheese–a big no-no but my latest addiction!) for a snack so I justify at the time that it’s okay but I eat much more than 6 or 7 chips or whatever the recommended serving size is.
