How Do I Lose Weight If I Travel?

The other day we talked about packing and planning ahead when you're IN a hotel

…but what about when you're on your way to the hotel.

I'm heading off to a conference in a few days, so I'm going to be using some of the strategies I show below so I don't have to rely on the food court…home of the 1000 calorie burritos, 500+ calorie lattes, and so much other junk.

It all goes back to planning ahead — here are some of my favorite "travel" foods for the airplane and layovers.

What do you do when traveling to stick to your goals?

Please share the brand of the smootie drink, and pre-packaged health bars.  Thanks so much!

Great video, thanks for sharing! I'm getting ready to head to the beach for Spring Break and was wondering how I could maintain my weight loss.  This idea should help tremendously!

Chris-just curious; how do you cut open that grapefruit while waiting in the airport?  Many eateries in the food court don't supply real knives and I'm guessing you don't like the attention and potential strip search that carrying on a knife might attract?

You make an excellent point — neither the attention and/or strip searches sound very appealing. :-) I peel them like oranges and eat the slices like that vs. the more “traditional” way of eating a grapefruit. This way, you need just your good ‘ol bare hands (no knife required).

When I travel I take with a home made peanut butter and strawberry sandwich. I bake the bread and the condiments are all organic. I also take along unsalted nuts & raisins, an orange and a bottle of water. When I'm in flight I drink hot water and lemon which is very relaxing and unlike soft drinks or alcohol does not bloat me or dehydrate me.
