You Won’t Believe This

I’m online the other day reading a journal …

…and suddenly I come across a brand new study, out just this month.

It was a study on frequently reported activities by intensity among US Adults.

Nearly 80,000 men and women were part of the study.

And they reported on their most common physical activities at different intensities — sedentary, light, moderate, and vigorous.

Interested in hearing what the most common "moderate intensity" activity reported is among this group…

…food and drink preparation.

25% of the group reported that preparing to eat and drink was the MOST intense thing they did all day!!!!

And, to add to this … just 5% of respondents said they engaged in vigorous activity on a daily basis!

If you’re not active, start today.

If you are, ramp up the intensity.

It’s no wonder there’s a growing obesity epidemic when the most common moderate intensity physical activity is food and drink prep!

Looking at the bright side, it’s better to prep your own food than have someone (meaning a restaurant) prep it for you!

Yeah but what does food preparation mean exactly. Pop that pizza, fried chicken, hot dog, etc.. in the microwave? lol I’m guessing it’s not any better than eating it at a restaurant. Very sad.

I believe it. I don’t know how many times I’m talking to someone and they think running is un-thinkable. Even 20 yr olds. “My knees won’t let me run” that’s one I always hear. I say just walk people and get you heart rate up. I would have thought vacuuming or housecleaning would have come in ahead of food preperation. Wow! I recall growing up and everything was about food preperation for the women, dicing carrots, baking, gardening. Now I think Carlos is right there’s a lot of quick preps out there.
